Expenses associated with the operation of the association and the activities they sponsor are covered by general membership fees, entry fees and sale commission. Your membership will help to make these activities possible. MEMBERSHIPS ARE FOR A CALENDAR YEAR Types of Membership: Individual This is the most common membership and is for individuals in their own name. Persons in partnerships in the operation of a herd can also be individual members. This allows them to register animals owned either in partnership or individually at member rates. Partnership This is for the husband and wife ( family) operations or for individuals or entities associated together under a partnership agreement who jointly own registered cattle. A signed partnership agreement must be available upon request, but is not required for husband and wife partnerships. Please note that, except for certain family partnerships, if individuals within a partnership change, the partnership membership is no longer valid and all animals must be transferred to reflect their new ownership. For animals owned by husband and wife in joint tenancy with right to survivorship, both husband and wife must be individual members. Personal Signature of each partner is required on the application for partnership membership. For partnership owned animals, to qualify for state membership and registry fee discounts, the partnership must have a membership or each member of the partnership must have an individual membership. Corporation or Institution Corporations and institutions owning animals must transact business and own animals in the corporation or institution name. Membership entitles you to:
