Recipes & Remembrances - Butter Pecan Ice Cream

Our first recipe comes from Alice Gardner of Garlee Holsteins in Mt. Solon, VA.  Thank you for sharing this delicious recipe to beat the summer heat!


Butter Pecan Ice Cream



1 box (1/2 gallon) Vanilla ice cream mix

3 cups Milk

2 tablespoons Vanilla

2/3 cup Sugar

2 cups Chopped Pecans

3 tablespoons Butter



Melt butter and fry pecans until toasty.  Add the rest of the ingredients. Make ice cream with hand crank or electric ice cream freezer.  Enjoy!
